Smart Ways to Make Your Gift or Pledge Payment

You can make your Because He First Loved Us pledge payment – or any gift to the Foundation – AND save money on taxes!

1. IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) – If you are 70.5 or older and want to lower your tax consequences, you can use an IRA QCD to make a gift or pledge payment directly to the Foundation. A QCD can also reduce or even eliminate the income tax ordinarily due on a required minimum distribution at 73 years of age or older

2. Appreciated Stock – Do you have an appreciated stock that will trigger a long-term capital gains tax? Donate it directly to the endowment of the ministry closest to your heart at the Foundation or to your Because He First Loved Us pledge and capital gains taxes may be eliminated.

3. Donor Advised Fund (DAF) – After having saved taxes by donating to your DAF, please consider recommending a grant from the DAF to the campaign to help build up a ministry or parish endowment or to fulfill your pledge.

Endowments

Gifts to the Foundation for the Diocese of Helena, Inc. are placed in an endowment fund chosen by the donor. These funds will perpetually serve the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Helena and its mission through the years to come so your children and grandchildren will have the opportunity to walk with Christ as you have in your lifetime.
